The Park Hyatt Vendôme is one of the four Parisian palaces, and among all the hotels we have tested in Paris, it is far beyond our favorite. This hotel embodies the discreet luxury and proves that being both modern and simple does not prevent you from being one of the best hotels in the world. Its whole charm comes from the high-quality of the services, the kindness of the staff and its beautiful and endless simplicity.
What we like the most about the Park Hyatt Vendôme is it is absolutely not show off, and that the hotel does not pretend to be what it is not. The first clue of that concerns the entrance: even if the hotel is maybe the best located one in Paris, on the Place Vendôme, the entrance is nearly invisible if you do not pay attention to it on the Rue de la Paix. Then comes again for the reception and concierge desks the discretion: there are many little desks to welcome the guests personally and then lead them to their rooms. All these attentions contribute to the great fame of the hotel.
The service, as in all the 5* hotels, is great, but since the Park Hyatt Vendôme is a palace, the small attentions really make the difference. You can see the differences during the check-in which doesn’t take long in the hall, at the reception, but they take much more time to explain you what you need to know in the bedroom, about the hotel. The room-service is thus so efficient that when you call them, they arrive in your bedroom within 1 minute! And they always try to do their best to satisfy you, especially the concierges.
Everything in the hotel is made for you to feel comfortable and cozy. The setting is quite simple, ancient furniture comes along with pieces of contemporary art, and enhances thus a feeling of quiet. The whole hotel is dim-lighted set so the feeling of being at home is even more important.
This is really the modern and contemporary palace. But again, nothing is show off, everything just looks perfect, and not just luxurious.
The hotel has more than 150 bedrooms, from 30 to 85sqm for the “Park Bedrooms”, and from 100 to 250sqm for the suites. The equipment inside the bedrooms is very complete and efficient. Most of the bathrooms for example have a shower and a bathtub, and all the spa treatments can be made in the bedroom directly. All the rooms have a living-room, most of the time separated from the bedroom, so you can enjoy your breakfast or even organize meetings in your own room, which is an explanation why the guests are mostly here for business: quality of the service, very quick but not invasive, and the amenities for affairs. What is also great is that there are a lot of connecting-rooms, so if you want to go on a high-class trip with your kids, going to the Park Hyatt Vendôme is a very good idea. The rooms are very convenient for kids too, and the staff is always pleased when they have to take care of their little guests.
The hotel also provides a spa of 250sqm with a hammam, a sauna, a Jacuzzi and a fitness room, and all the treatments are tailor-made and can be made in the room directly.
Last – but not least – the restaurants of the Park Hyatt Vendôme are well-known, and the gastronomic restaurant, Pur, is a 1* Michelin. Its particularity is providing a very innovating cuisine with the finest products,thanks to the great experience of its Chef, Jean-François Rouquette, to offer his guests simplicity, purity and refinement in their plates. The more casual restaurant named the Orchidées takes place in the courtyard of the hotel and can serve even in the bar. Finally, the bars are the greatest places to enjoy a brunch or the French snack, named “goûter”, near the fireplace during the winter or comfortably installed in the cosy armchairs of the saloon.
In one word, everything is made at the Park Hyatt Vendôme to make you feel you are at home. But watch out, you will never want to leave, after trying it…
